Lesson 1: Digital Life 101
Finish this simile: "My Media Life is like a....."
Lesson 2: My Media
After you complete your Digital Log Handout, multiply your media totals by seven to determine the amount of time spent using media for an entire week. Then divide each number by 60 to determine the number of hours spent using media per week.
Now, let's create a graph! You have two choices:
1. Open Excel. Save the file as "My Media Bar Graph" to your H:Drive. Enter the data and insert a bar graph to represent your media usage. Make sure to label the x-axis, y-axis, and insert a title. When finished, print to B9. Staple your entire packet together and submit to IN BIN.
2. Use this link to access the National Center for Educational Statistics. Create a bar graph by entering the data to represent your media usage. Make sure to label the x-axis, y-axis, and insert a title. When finished, print to B9. Staple your entire packet together and submit to IN BIN.
Lesson 3: Safe Online Talk
Complete the Stop Light Challenge Assignment. Be sure to write down which light you would use for each situation and explain why.
Lesson 4-5: Digital Byte Group Project
Click on this link to access Digital Bytes
Scroll to the bottom of the page. As a group, select from one of the four categories: pioneer, doer, thinker or creator.
Follow the instructions on the screen as you complete the Reflect, Watch, Discuss, Engage and Share activities. Any time you submit a response (type information) make sure you print a copy. You will submit this for credit.
When you get to the "Engage" section of this activity, you will select one project to create as a group. Before you can begin creating, you must complete an "Action Plan" with your group. Remember, we have limited time (one day) and limited resources (see the links below) to complete the project. You must submit your action plan to Mrs. VB for credit and for approval by the end of Day 1.
